Save The Children: even your own!
This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Cryo-Cell International. All opinions are 100% mine.
Sometimes you can feel like there is nothing you can do when something bad happens close to home, or better yer, far away. When I found out there was a a way to help your own children while helping those children in Haiti, I had to share.
Cord blood is what remains in the umbilical cord while after a child is born. For you moms out there, you know this is just thrown away. If you preserve the cord blood, you then give your child a safeguard for the future. Let me explain. There are many diseases which cord blood can be used against. The cord blood has been used as a viable substitute to bone marrow in thousands of successful transplants. The only way to keep the cord blood is at cord blood bank, like Cryo-cell.
To take a quote from their page: ....in the event your child contracts a disease, which must be treated with chemotherapy or radiation, there is a probability of a negative impact on the immune system. While an autologous (self) transplant may not be appropriate for every disease, there could be a benefit in using the preserved U-Cord® stem cells to bolster and repopulate your child’s blood and immune system as a result of complications from other treatments.
Companies like this will keep your babies cord blood for 21 years to ensure it's quality when you need it. It's a pretty simple process. You order the kit online, and bring it to the hospital with you at time of birth. Then the kit, with the cord blood gets sent back and remains in a safe environment. Hopefully you will never need it, but if in fact you do, it will feel good to be prepared.
It's really great thing Cryo-cell is doing right now. Beside keeping your childs future safegarded, they will be donating $25 for each enrollment to Save the Children: Haiti Relief Fund.
So if you are preggo or planning on becoming preggo (I know so many of you that are!) Check our Cyro-Cell.
