Why You Need a Sander + Giveaway!
***This giveaway is now closed!***
Welcome to day #3 of our amazing week of giveaways aponsored by Stack Exchange's DIY and Home Impovement Board! It's a great place to ask and give answers (or snoop at other people's Q&A's, like we do!). Today is a fun one. Another product you don't know you need, until you own it. Remember a bit ago Joey turned a $40 piece of reclaimed wood into our entryway table?
To be honest it was a gross-o piece of wood we weren't sure what to do with until we discovered the power of the sander. Follow me young grasshopper and learn...
I hope you know I was kidding about the grasshopper thing :). As you can see Joey turned the gross wood into a gem with some elbow grease and a little wax. We LOVE Milwakee and Makita brands when it comes to tools as you may have noticed. Nothing against the other guys, just seems to last a long time and tends to have quality accessories.
So what's in it for you? A new sander of course! Welcome the one we would have gotten if it had been available when we were in need.
Get your pretty little DIY Hands on this beauty! Also don't forget to check out the "sanders" at Stack Exchange and add your Q&A's to the mix! Seriously! DIY is about community and sharing what you know while learning from others. This is such a great place to share that exchange.

Ooh, Lordy I want thy sander bad!!! I'd find some old barn wood and make us a new dining table out of it!
I tweeted! @alwaysnwonder
This sander is amazing. It transform an old wood into a functional one. It smoothen the rough wood.
I'd love to win this! It would make quick work of our dining room furniture. I have big staining and painting plans! Thanks and good luck on your move.
This would help with all the furniture refinishing that I've been doing!
I would use this to make the headboard and footboard that I have been wanting to make for months!
Oooh I have plans to build a console behind the sofa, a console for the entryway, and a big fireplace built-in thingy! (I'm totally an internet pupil of Ana White and Young House Love!) We could definitely use one of these! We have a cheapy 1/4-sheet sander but it's just not as nice as this one!
I have some nightstands and a bookcase I want to refinish.
I would use this to refinish a buffet i've been meaning to get at for a while. I want to repaint it so it matches more with my decor.
First off, in reply to PlumbingSupplies above...that's what she said. Now that the 14 year old in me got that out....
What wouldn't I sand with a new sander.....my cabinets, ugly built in that needs painting, my heels, my husbands heels, the hunk of wood that I want to make into a coat/backpack hanger. The list really is endless! :)
I would totally use this sander to refinish several hand-me-down pieces of furniture we have -- then we could make them modern and awesome!
Similar to others I would totally use this to sand down old furniture for refinishing!
We will use it sand some reclaimed wood to use as an accent in our basement!

I would totally sand down the trim all over our house that's a ugly glossy orange-tinted stained wood so that I could paint my trim white.... and then if I lived through that, I might just do the same to our ugly wood kitchen cabinets.
I would love the sander to re-finish things found on Craigslist.
I have this bench I have been wanting to make with this salvaged wood, its for an inside room decorated with an outside feel.
I have a table sitting in my garage that needs a sander! After spending 3+ hours with my boyfriend trying to sand it by hand, I quickly realized that was not a good idea (and definitely not any fun). My heart skipped a beat when I saw this post. Please save me from buying a cheap-o sander so I can not only finish this project but many more to come!
I could totally use this to refinish my grandmother's dining table! It's a project I've been wanting to do for a loooong time.
I would use this to refinish my front porch steps.
Oh, I so need to finish some refinishing projects. This weekend I sanded on an old butcher block for my kitchen Island. I so love it!
I rescued a table from the bulky trash that my neighbor was ditching and would love to sand and restain the top. I would LOVE my own sander!
How perfect! I have about a dozen projects on hold because I need to get my hands on a sander. The first thing I would sand would be my vintage coffee table. Can't wait to finish that beauty! Fingers crossed!
Its first job would be practical...making a sticky door fit smoothly. Then I would go onto more creative projects.
I tweeted too!
