Impactful Giveaway!
***This giveaway is now closed!***
It's day #4 of amazing giveaways sponsored by Stack Exchange and their Home Improvement vertical over here at Making a House a Home! We have been having such a good time reading all your entries! If you have been missing out, join the fun and check out the other giveaways going on right now here, here, and here! Pretty sweet for you DIY folk!
Today we have a pretty sweet "wish list" tool we don't actually own yet. After much debate and research we have decided we need not only a corded screwdriver, a cordless screwdriver, but also we need an impact driver. Here is why. Torque. You know, that thing car salesmen push when trying to get you into that sporty car instead of the sedan. Yep, to us torque is magic, it's umph. It's a secret power. Secret power is awesome when you have power tools.
Plus I think it's cute because it's smaller and less clumsy looking than a screwdriver. Don't mind me. It's 4:22am. You would start to think power tools were looking cute too at this hour!

Now this is easy, I would drive across the bridge and help Lana finish that darn guest room. I hope she gets it done before the "big move"....oh the pressure! Actually, this tool would be so helpful working under a cabinet in a small space.
I've been putting off building a corner banquette for my eat-in Kitchen! This would totally help with that project! :)
ps... love the blog!
We have been putting off building our dining room table because we need a new sander and are waiting to find the perfect reclaimed wood for the top. Would love a new drill though too!
I'd love to build some furniture for our guest bedroom using plans from Ana White, but we are missing a lot of tools for the projects i like!
We desperately need to do board and batten in our living room. The previous owners put up UGLY tongue and groove boards that are NOT attractive and installed incorrectly. We have ripped part of them off and we have been looking at the ugly walls for MONTHS! Thanks for the giveaway!
Dining room table, but is for lack of a definite design rather than the tools...I would still like the impact drill, I need to mount something on a brick wall!
We've been putting off some building projects because we don't have a nail gun ...
Knocking down the wall between the eat in kitchen and the formal dining room - concrete block. Argh :-)
I need a cats claw to remove the upholstery tacs from my front porch steps so I can refinish them. It's a shame. They're a mess.
Hi there! My new husband Andy and I just took the plunge, and we'd love to plunge into building our own custom bookcases in the den.
Replacing my chimney cap, since I don't have a ladder that would reach 3 stories up.
I'v been putting off painting the front door and making some helpful updates to our closets.
We have been putting off painting the exterior of our home because we would love to have a paint sprayer to make it easier and less time consuming.
An additional shelf in the closet. That would have to get done if we won this!
I've been wanting to make a knockoff version of a CB2 outdoor sectional (which is apparently less than $25 per seat, without the cushion), but I'm am lacking several key tools.
we need to install cabinets in our mudroom, but have very few tools to do it. this should definitely help there!
iI've been putting off trying to build a shelving unit because I want a dremel first.
I've put off refinishing some antique furniture for lack of a good sander.
We have a "nook" in our master bedroom that the previous owners used as a mini-office area. We've been talking about boxing that wasted area in to create an additional walk-in closet (with a pocket door!). I'm long on ideas, but a little short on tools and skill.
I have been putting off sanding our table and chairs down to refinish for outdoor use b/c I need a good sander! This tool would be great for many projects too! Thanks!
I agree - it's cute! DIY procrastination....building a banquette for our screened porch.
Oh this is easy. I could say the entire house, but actually, it's the dining room! We took down all the wood paneling and it was revealed that we have some major plaster damage and the middle of the floor is sagging. We desperately need a jack to jack up that side of the house!
I've totally been putting off DIYing a headboard/bed for our new mattress set. It's time to get on it!
I have been putting off tiling my bathroom and entryway because I don't have any of the tools I need.
We have been putting off building a toddler Pirate bed!!! We MUST get it done SOON!! we have a climber!! ( as in, out of his crib)
