Hot (Pink) Mess

When you think of pink, you probably don't think of using it in your home. You may remember Design Star winner Antonio Ballatore using hot pink ducks on a stark white wall....

It worked somehow, right? It worked well. I wanted to sift through and find other people who figured out how to use hot pink, and keep it classy. I was truly inspired by the diversity of these finds. The designs range from boho-chic, to traditional, to eclectic. Perhaps hot pink should no longer be an after thought.

Friday Eye-candy

photos courtesy of angela adams

I came across Angela Adams website today and had to share these amazing custom rugs. Now if I only didn't have two pups who figure a rug is a wee-wee pad, I would be buying these pronto!

She has some amazing artwork, wallpaper, rugs and accessories on her page. You should surely check it out.

Happy Friday everyone!

Pre-think-pad-ness Mess

We have been playing around with paint colors and defining a style and trying to turn those pretty pictures in our heads into a plan. It's hard to decide "what" we are. Our house is old and strong. We are young and artsy. Needless to say we are on a mission to find a happy medium. As I put together inspirations, and peruse through catalogues and websites I noticed I use animals a lot in the house. I am not talking zebra print rugs or leopard print pillows, actual animals. I tend to lean more towards the humor of nature, while Joey leans in a humor-mod way. It's interesting to put ideas down in once place and start to see a consistency.

Today I came across a website I haven't seen before; www.ballarddesigns.com. I didn't fall in love with EVERYTHING, but my interest was piqued on a few items. The prices aren't awful and they have a very good selection of what they carry. You can get wallpaper, rugs, lighting, bed frames, and fabric all from one site, and you can design a full room off there mix and match items. Like i mentioned, it was a decent find. Not 100% our style, but found some good stuff! Where do you find uniques pieces for your home? Do you make stuff yourself? Please share!
